Megan Thee Stallion Wows at 2024 BET Awards With Spectacular Snake Egg Entry

The Grammy winner, Megan Thee Stallion, opened the 2024 BET Awards with a high-production performance of ‘Hiss’. Sporting a daring shiny green and gold latex bodysuit and calf-high boots, she made a dramatic entrance by emerging from a cracked snake egg, with fiery graphics appearing on the screen behind her. This entrance was a homage to the snake imagery she has used in several recent songs and music videos. She invited the crowd to “turn up with the ‘hot girls,'” setting the tone for an unforgettable show.

With dozens of backup dancers in matching outfits emerging from backstage, Megan broke into a high-octane dance number before transitioning into ‘Boa’, another snake-inspired track from her recently released studio album, ‘MEGAN’. The energy in the theatre was palpable as the performance showcased her dynamic stage presence and choreography.

Her opening number set a high bar for the rest of the night, making it a tough act to follow. Other performances expected throughout the award ceremony included Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, and Victoria Monét.

Megan made a second appearance later in the night, joining GloRilla for their hit ‘Wanna Be’. This collaboration added to the excitement of the evening and showcased her versatility and ability to captivate the audience with multiple performances.

Megan has been nominated for four BET Awards this year: Video of the Year, Best Collaboration for ‘Bongos’ with Cardi B, Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, and the BET Her Award. Her multiple nominations highlight her significant impact on the music industry and her continued success.

This year’s ceremony is hosted by Taraji P. Henson, who is returning for her third hosting gig at the BET Awards, having previously served as the master of ceremonies in 2021 and 2022. Henson expressed her excitement for Megan’s opening performance, praising the singer after seeing her perform live just days before the BET Awards. The anticipation and admiration for Megan’s talent were evident, making her performance one of the most anticipated highlights of the night.
