Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Host African American Art Event

Recently, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hosted a glamorous event that raised awareness of the arts. The 39-year-old and 42-year-old royal couple garnered media attention when they disclosed information about their partnership with The Kinsey African American Art and History Collection on their official website. One of the largest selections of African American historical documents, artefacts, and artwork can be found in this collection.

The Kinsey Collection posted several striking photos from the event, which happened on March 21 at Sofi Stadium at Hollywood Park, on Instagram.

Alongside a thought-provoking conversation facilitated by Bernard, Shirley, and Khalil Kinsey—well-known individuals in the art and philanthropy fields committed to advancing and honouring Black American culture and art—Meghan and Harry were seen giving warm embraces to the attendees.

One of the well-known attendees offering encouragement was actor David Oyelowo, best known for his part in ‘Role Play.’ The 48-year-old Oyelowo founded a scholarship fund in Nigeria to give students access to higher education. The GEANCO Foundation and Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Foundation collaborated to donate menstruation products and school supplies last year.

While the celebration was going on, Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was photographed with Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles.

The reason for Meghan and Harry’s association with the elite of the music industry stems from their attendance at the 2019 Brit Awards and the London premiere of ‘The Lion King.’ More recently, in September 2023, the three attended Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, all dressed in silver at the singer’s express request.

Notably, Meghan and Ragland went back to the concert for a second night and spent time together without Harry.
