Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas Rally Behind Dakota Johnson at SNL Afterparty

Dakota Johnson received unwavering support from her family after her successful stint on ‘Saturday Night Live’ this weekend.

Following her hosting duties on the late-night sketch comedy show, the 34-year-old actress enjoyed some relaxation at the SNL afterparty, where her mom, Melanie Griffith and stepfather, Antonio Banderas, were right by her side. For the post-show celebration, the ‘Madame Web’ star donned a striking sheer, floor-length black gown paired with a cropped black jacket, a black purse, and stylish black heels. Meanwhile, her 66-year-old mom opted for an all-black ensemble.

Banderas, 63, added a pop of colour to his look, combining a dark blue leather jacket with a navy top and black pants.

Griffith’s presence at the afterparty followed her public praise for her daughter on Instagram before the SNL appearance, where she shared one of Johnson’s promo videos with the caption, “Comedienne extraordinaire #proudmama.”

Dakota Johnson’s star-studded afterparty wasn’t just a family affair with her famous parents; A-listers Demi Moore and Jimmy Fallon also joined the festivities. Fallon, who made several cameos in the SNL episode alongside Justin Timberlake, celebrated the successful night at his former comedy home.

Moore, 61, brought along her dog, snugly stored in a cross-body bag for the night. Fallon, 49, sported a stylish grey suit jacket, a black v-neck sweater and eye-catching green pants as he arrived at the New York City restaurant.

Despite Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas’ separation in 2015 after nearly two decades of marriage, they continue to maintain a close bond and are always there to support their children. Banderas, expressing his enduring love for Griffith, emphasized their strong friendship, stating, “Melanie is not my wife anymore, but I think she is my best friend. I love her and will love her until the day I die. She’s my family.”

The former couple shares a daughter Stella, 27, and while they’ve gone their separate ways, Banderas played a significant role in raising Johnson (from Griffith’s first marriage to Don Johnson) and son Alexander Bauer (from Griffith’s second marriage to Steven Bauer).

Banderas affectionately shared, “I was there because I love their mother, and I am totally taken with their mother, and they were the most important part of what she came with. Very soon they understood that. They called me Paponio, a mixture between Papa and Antonio.”
