Since 1995, the Met Gala has been curated by Anna Wintour, Vogue’s editor-in-chief, who meticulously selects attendees from the world of fashion and entertainment. With tickets priced at a lavish $50,000, attendance is granted only by Anna Wintour’s approval.
The official theme for the Met Gala 2024 is ‘The Garden of Time,’ celebrating the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. The exhibition will showcase 250 rarely-seen items from the institute’s permanent collection, featuring designs from esteemed designers like Dior, Schiaparelli, and Givenchy.
Divided into zones of Land, Sea and Sky, the Met Gala 2024 will pay homage to nature, presenting an ode to the emotional poetics of fashion. Hosted by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth, the event promises to be a spectacular celebration of fashion, art, and culture.
