Michael J. Fox received a warm reception as he took the stage to present the award for ‘Best Film’ at the 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards in London, bringing the evening to a memorable close.

Amidst the grandeur of London’s Royal Festival Hall, Fox was greeted with a standing ovation as he wheeled himself onto the stage to announce the winner, ‘Oppenheimer,’ which triumphed in seven categories throughout the event. A wave of applause filled the venue as celebrities like Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie rose to their feet in appreciation for the iconic actor.

In his address, Fox reflected on the transformative power of cinema, remarking, “There’s a reason why they say movies are magic because movies can change your day. They can change your outlook and sometimes even your life.”

Accompanied by his wife, Tracy Pollan, Fox exuded elegance in an all-black ensemble while Pollan opted for a white, short-sleeved dress adorned with striking silver embellishments.

Despite his ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 1991, Fox maintains a resilient spirit. In a candid interview last year, he shared the challenges of living with the condition, acknowledging moments of doubt and depression. However, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive outlook, stating, “Positivity is really sincere and I really feel it, and it’s genuine, but it’s hard-fought and it’s hard-won.”
