In the biopic, Michael Jackson will be portrayed by Jaafar Jackson, his real-life nephew. The casting choice adds a familial dimension to the portrayal of Jackson, whose legacy includes both immense musical achievements and controversy, particularly surrounding allegations of s*xual abuse that surfaced after his death at age 50 in 2009.

Jaafar Jackson, the son of Jermaine Jackson, has been seen in glimpses on the movie’s set, embodying his uncle during iconic musical moments such as recreating the ‘Thriller’ music video, marking significant milestones in the film’s production journey since his casting announcement in 2023.

Aside from his role in ‘Michael’, Colman Domingo also stars in the A24 film ‘Sing Sing’, set to premiere in theatres in July. The film delves into the transformative impact of the Rehabilitation Through the Arts theatre program at New York’s Sing Sing Correctional Facility, featuring formerly incarcerated individuals who find redemption through artistic expression.

Additionally, Domingo’s acclaimed play ‘Wild with Happy’ recently debuted as an audio adaptation on Audible, showcasing his versatile talents across different artistic mediums.
