Michael Jackson Defended by Miles Teller, Says He Deserves a Movie

Miles Teller, known for his recent role in the blockbuster ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, is gearing up to portray music legend Michael Jackson in an upcoming biopic. The film, currently untitled, has assembled an impressive team and Teller is diving headfirst into preparation.

Teller emphasises the importance of thorough research. “I think you just try to inundate yourself with as much information as you can,” he shared. This includes Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, who will be portraying his uncle at a different stage of life in the film. Teller has also connected with director Antoine Fuqua and producer Graham King, highlighting the film’s strong creative force.

Beyond the technical aspects of preparation, Teller expresses genuine respect for Michael Jackson’s legacy. “Regardless of what you know or what your opinion may be, Michael is one of the greatest to ever do it, if not the greatest,” he states. This appreciation translates to his excitement about the project: “He deserves a movie, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”

The biopic boasts a unique casting approach. It features a large ensemble cast, with multiple actors portraying the Jackson family members at various ages. Teller himself won’t be the only one embodying the King of Pop – Jaafar Jackson will share that responsibility.
