Mikey Madison Exits New ‘Star Wars’ Film Starring Ryan Gosling

Despite being promised a role, Mikey Madison will not be joining Ryan Gosling in the new ‘Star Wars’ movie.  Variety reported that insiders revealed the 26-year-old actress declined the chance to appear in the newest instalment of the venerable sci-fi series, which will feature Gosling, 44.

 Few plot information about the ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ project have been made public thus far, and it is still mostly under wraps.  Nonetheless, it has been announced that ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ filmmaker Shawn Levy would be directing the movie.

‘Starfighter’ offers a new plot with new characters, set after the events of ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ and the pivotal Battle of Exegol.  When the movie was announced in April, Levy clarified that it is set in the time after Episode IX.  “The story will carry all the heart, action, and fun fans associate with ‘Star Wars’, but with a new and original spin,” he said, expressing excitement about the creative possibilities.

 The Battle of Exegol, which saw the death of the Sith and a galactic rebellion against the remaining enemy troops, will be remembered by die-hard fans as the last conflict between the Resistance and the First Order.

In 2027, ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ is scheduled to be released in theatres.

 Madison has had an incredible year on her own, even if she won’t be taking part in the galaxy-spanning expedition.  Madison is still enjoying success after winning Best Actress at the Academy Awards for her performance in ‘Anora’.  She played the title character in the movie, a prostitute entangled in a fast-paced Cinderella tale.  Madison saw the event as strange when she accepted the Oscar from Emma Stone, adding that Hollywood had always seemed far away from her, which made the moment very significant.

 In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE before the March Oscars, Madison disclosed that she has been getting some fascinating offers as a result of Anora’s success.  She revealed that she is sincerely excited about some projects and is crossing her fingers.
