Millie Bobby Brown Performs All Her Stunts ‘From Start to Finish’ in ‘Damsel’

Millie Bobby Brown proudly shared her experience of doing her stunt work in the fantasy-action film ‘Damsel’ during her appearance on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ this week. The 20-year-old ‘Stranger Things’ star discussed the Netflix movie and the exhilaration of executing “scary” stunts.

Reflecting on the filming process, Brown expressed the initial disbelief when faced with challenging stunts, stating, “You’re just like, ‘Are we really gonna, like, am I really gonna do that stunt?’ And then that day they’re like, ‘Yep, put the harness on,’ and I just, like, did the stunt as if it wasn’t, you know, Tom Cruise–level stuff. I felt like Tom Cruise.”

She continued to emphasize her accomplishment, declaring, “So cool. In this film, I feel like the female version of Tom Cruise. I did all my own stunts from start to finish. And I’m really scared about doing my own stunts. Stunts are scary… You’re just like, ‘I’m not physically trained to do this.'”

‘Damsel’, featuring Robin Wright, Angela Bassett, Nick Robinson, Ray Winstone, and Shohreh Aghdashloo as the voice of a fire-breathing dragon, showcases Brown’s dedication to her craft. The actress also spoke about working with Angela Bassett, praising her as an amazing person with a great presence.

Brown shared her admiration for Bassett’s talent, recalling how her mom introduced her to Bassett’s 1993 film ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It?’ early in her career.

Host Drew Barrymore added to the conversation, expressing her admiration for Tom Cruise’s daring stunts in movies like ‘Mission: Impossible and Top Gun’. Brown’s comparison to Cruise’s level of commitment further highlights her dedication to performing her own stunts in ‘Damsel’, now available on Netflix.
