‘Moana 2’: New Photos Reveal Grown-Up Moana in Disney’s Animated Sequel

Disney has given fans a first look at the much-awaited Moana sequel, ‘Moana 2.’ The animated musical debuted in 2016. The newly disclosed picture features an increasingly mature Moana, displaying her paddle skills with assurance on a boat surrounded by water, while an enigmatic marine animal appears in the distance.

Dwayne Johnson, reprising his role as the fabled demigod Maui, will accompany Auli’i Cravalho in her role as Moana’s voice. For the follow-up, David G. Derrick Jr., who worked as a story artist on the first Moana, is both the director and writer.

The follow-up promises to be an entirely new epic journey as Moana explores undiscovered territory beyond the borders of Motunui with the help of Maui and a new group of strange explorers.

‘Moana 2’ promises to be a new musical experience with returning original composers Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina and newcomers Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, the makers of ‘The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical’.

The Walt Disney Company’s CEO, Bob Iger, shocked fans by revealing that ‘Moana 2’ would be released in November. Disney is currently producing a live-action version of the original Moana, which is slated for release in 2025.

Johnson will reprise his role as Maui, and a new actress will play Moana. This project is in addition to the sequel. On 27th November, ‘Moana 2’ is expected to open in theatres.
