‘Mortal Kombat 1’ Leaks Reveal New Online Features

‘Mortal Kombat 1’ might be getting a boost in its online features soon, as revealed by a recent data mine. Despite receiving positive reviews upon its release, fans were left wanting more from the game’s online play modes.

While ‘Mortal Kombat 1’ does offer online play, it comes with limitations. Sending match invites to random players isn’t straightforward, and the absence of online practice options left fans puzzled. While there’s no official confirmation yet, a reliable source of Mortal Kombat 1 leaks, Twitter user thethiny, known for accurate information in the past, has uncovered evidence suggesting the introduction of Online Lobbies with the upcoming Peacemaker DLC in February 2024.

Screenshots shared by thethiny also indicate the arrival of an online practice mode, although it’s unclear if both features will debut simultaneously. Nonetheless, these leaks hint at positive developments for online play, showing that the developers are considering enhancements.

Earlier reports indicated that ‘Mortal Kombat 1”s crossplay feature would debut in February 2024, aligning with the recent leaks about online improvements. While crossplay might not extend to the Switch, according to previous reports, it remains uncertain whether the leak applies to that version as well.

Despite ongoing plans for new content, such as ‘Kombat Pack 1”s additional content, rumours persist. Beyond the leaked online modes, fans are speculating about Mortal Kombat 1’s Kombat Pack 2 and the possibility of an extended story mode similar to Mortal Kombat 11’s Aftermath DLC.

NetherRealm Studios seems dedicated to keeping the fan base engaged with planned content, a strategy successfully employed in titles like ‘Injustice 2’ and ‘Mortal Kombat 11.’
