‘Naked Gun’ Reboot: Here’s What Liam Neeson Thinks About it

Liam Neeson, a three-time Golden Globes Award winner known for his action-packed roles, is gearing up to showcase a new side of his talent to fans. The veteran actor is set to star in Paramount’s reboot of ‘The Naked Gun: From the Files of a Police Squad,’ stepping into the shoes of the iconic character, Frank Drebin.

In a recent interview, Neeson confessed to feeling somewhat “nervous” about his role in the comedic movie. Despite having dabbled in funny cameos on shows like ‘Derry Girls’ and ‘Life’s Too Short’, Neeson admitted that this project, being a feature film, brought about a new level of apprehension.

Speaking about the reboot, Neeson teased that fans can expect plenty of humorous gags. He described the film as packed with funny visual moments happening alongside more serious discussions. Emphasising that it’s not a remake, Neeson stressed that it’s a “reboot”, with a fresh take on the beloved character of Frank Drebin, originally portrayed by Leslie Nielsen.

While the script is still in development, filming for the reboot is scheduled to kick off in May, continuing for a few months. Neeson hinted at the need for more laugh-out-loud moments, aiming for a total of seven or eight in the final product.
