Nashville Producer Says Zayn Malik May Have a Country Album on The Way

Former One Direction member Zayn Malik,  is on the brink of unveiling his forthcoming album, yet to be titled, with the production prowess of Dave Cobb, a renowned figure in the music industry recognized for his versatile work spanning across country and rock genres. Collaborating with esteemed artists like Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, and Lady Gaga, Cobb brings his expertise to Malik’s new project, marking a notable shift in the trajectory of the singer’s musical journey.

Reports suggest that Malik has been meticulously crafting this album, his debut under the Mercury Records label, over several years within the serene confines of rural Pennsylvania. It was only recently that he enlisted the Grammy-winning producer to infuse his distinct touch into the project.

Cobb, impressed by Malik’s emotive vocal delivery, emphasised the raw authenticity embedded within the artist’s voice, portraying a spectrum of emotions ranging from love and loss to triumph and humanity. In an interview, Cobb expressed his admiration for Malik’s fearless approach to music-making, noting the unfiltered expression emanating from the singer’s soul.

Hints of Malik’s departure from conventional soundscapes surfaced during an interview on ‘Call Her Daddy,’ where he teased an album that diverges from audience expectations. Describing a narrative-driven approach infused with real-life experiences, Malik hinted at personal themes, including mentions of his daughter

Reflecting on his decision to part ways with One Direction, Malik revealed his aspiration to embark on a solo career, breaking away from the group dynamic after five years of collaboration.

Accompanying the album tease, Malik unveiled a music video directed by Ivanna Borin & Frank Borin, shot against the vibrant backdrop of New York City. Clad in a striking red and black motorcycle jacket, Malik portrays a determined protagonist vying for the affection of his love interest.
