Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Renewed For Two More Seasons

Netflix has revealed that its live-action adaptation of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ has been given the green light for a second and third season. The announcement was made on social media platforms, exciting fans of the series. However, specific release dates for the upcoming seasons have yet to be disclosed.

The renewal news arrives following the successful premiere of the first season of the Netflix series in late February. The original Nickelodeon anime spanned three seasons, with Aang, portrayed by Gordon Cormier in the Netflix adaptation, mastering the elements of water, earth and fire across seasons one, two and three, respectively.

Netflix also shared a video clip featuring Daniel Dae Kim, who portrays Firelord Ozai, surprising his castmates with the news of the show’s renewal in a prank. During a video chat, Kim initially conveyed that he had received “sensitive” information to share.

“I’m sorry if this is unexpected but they are not able to announce a season two for our show,” Kim teased his fellow cast members, including Dallas Liu, Ian Ousley and Kiawentiio Tarbell, who appeared disappointed.

However, Kim quickly turned the mood around by revealing, “They said they’re not able to announce a season two because they would like to announce season two and three being renewed!” His co-stars erupted in cheers at the unexpected announcement, expressing their excitement for the future of the series.
