The Minions have returned, and this time they're creating an even bigger, louder, and more hilarious mess than ever before.

The tiny yellow troublemakers from the 'Despicable Me' universe are returning to theatres this summer in 'Minions & Monsters.' Fans got their first look at the movie when the debut trailer aired during the 2026 Super Bowl on 8th February.

What is 'Minions & Monsters' About?

Bursting with new characters and nonstop chaos, 'Minions & Monsters' tells a wildly exaggerated adventure where the Minions take over Hollywood, become instant movie stars, lose everything just as fast, accidentally unleash monsters on the world, and then scramble together to clean up the epic mess they caused. The movie leans fully into the fun, teasing that Hollywood now has a serious monster-sized problem.

The film arrives two years after the Minions last appeared on screen in 'Despicable Me 4' and four years after 'Minions: The Rise of Gru' became a massive hit. That movie opened over the 4th July weekend in 2022 and pulled in more than $125 million, setting a holiday opening record and becoming one of the biggest debuts in franchise history.

'The Rise of Gru' served as a prequel, showing a young Gru in the 1970s alongside fan-favourite Minions Kevin, Stuart, and Bob. It also introduced Otto, a sweet, braces-wearing Minion who quickly won over audiences.

The 'Despicable Me' franchise includes four main films released between 2010 and 2024, along with the original Minions spinoff that debuted in 2015. The series introduced Gru, his loyal Minions, and his adopted daughters Margo, Edith, and Agnes, who have remained central to the story over the years.

The first Minions movie showed how Kevin, Stuart, and Bob got their start, but 'Minions & Monsters' takes things to the next level. This time, the chaos is bigger, louder, and way more outrageous, with the Minions diving headfirst into mayhem that's on a whole new scale.

'Minions & Monsters' storms into theatres on 1st July, kicking off summer with nonstop laughs, plenty of bananas, and a whole lot of monster-filled chaos.
