The acclaimed actor, famous for his roles in movies like 'Wild At Heart,' 'Moonstruck,' 'Dream Scenario' and more, shared his thoughts on the conclusion of his film career in a recent interview.

Nicolas Cage is taking an exit from the spotlight soon

Cage hinted that his remarkable run of beloved performances might be reaching its conclusion, stating, "I may have three or four more movies left in me. I feel I've conveyed everything I wanted to through cinema. I believe I've pushed film performance to its limits... I aspire to be more discerning and rigorous in my selection process. I aim to bid farewell on a high note."

Cage, who will be turning 60 in January, reflected on his father's passing at the age of 75, prompting him to outline a loose timeline for his own life. "If I'm fortunate, I have around 15 good years, and hopefully more," he remarked.

"Considering my father as a model, it became clear to me that I want to prioritize spending time with my family." Regarding his acting career, Cage stated, "I believe I've taken film performance to its limits," expressing his desire to bid farewell on a positive note.

About one of his recent films, ‘Renfield’ from 2023, the movie was praised in a four-star review, highlighting the compelling performances, such as Hoult's self-awareness complementing Cage's literal vamping, and the film's flashy action sequences.

The review continued, describing ‘Renfield’ as a blood-soaked blast with dismembered limbs used as weapons and cutlery turning into a kind of Chekhov's Gun.

It cautioned that the film isn't for the faint of heart but suggested it is incredibly entertaining for those with a reasonably strong stomach and an appreciation for the tongue-in-cheek.
