Nicole Kidman Shares Daughter’s Reaction to Seeing Her “Stoned” in ‘Eyes Wide Shut’

Nicole Kidman has some of her biggest fans right at home. In an interview with The LA Times about her 1999 film ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, the 57-year-old actress revealed that her 16-year-old daughter Sunday recently watched scenes from the movie at an event with her mom.

While Kidman believes Sunday might still be a bit young to watch the entire film, she shared that her daughter had a sweet reaction to the scenes she saw. “At the AFI [Life Achievement Award] tribute, they showed the scene where I get stoned,” Kidman said. “I was like, ‘Ooooh. Golly. OK.’ I sat next to my daughter, Sunday, watching that.”

Kidman continued, “She said, ‘Mom, that was good.’ And then they showed a scene from Birth,” referencing her 2004 film. “She said, ‘That was really good.’ I watched that scene and thought, ‘Wow. That was really good.’ And I never do that.”

Kidman shares her younger daughters—Sunday and Faith, 13—with husband Keith Urban, 56. She also has a daughter Bella, 31, and a son Connor, 29, with ex-husband Tom Cruise, 62. In a June interview with PEOPLE about her new movie ‘A Family Affair’, Kidman said her younger daughters are very supportive and provide honest feedback.

“They’re very supportive,” Kidman said. “But they’re also like, ‘OK, calm down.’ I think it’s important not to have sycophants around you.” She added, “And it’s not about seeking out really horrible criticism… We’re all a work in progress, as they say.”

Despite being big fans of Kidman’s work, her daughters recently had the chance to fangirl over another member of her movie. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at ‘A Family Affair’s’ Los Angeles premiere, Kidman shared that her daughters “really fangirl over Joey [King]. Which is nice, right? They’ve grown up with Joey.”
