Nina Dobrev on How She Keeps Their Dating Life ‘Exciting’ After 4 Years of Being With Her Boyfriend

Nina Dobrev spills the beans on keeping the romance alive with her beau of nearly four years, Shaun White.

The 35-year-old star of ‘The Bricklayer’ spilled the deets on how she and the 37-year-old former pro snowboarder and skateboarder keep their relationship sizzling. Turns out, they’ve got a cool routine for their weekly date nights – they take turns being the mastermind behind the plans.

“I’m generally the planner in life. Yep, I like a good schedule, and being a Capricorn, that’s just part of who I am,” she reveals. “But here’s the cool thing we do. We have a date night every week, and we switch off planning it. One week, I surprise him with something, and the next week, he’s the mastermind behind the plans. It keeps things exciting and carves out some quality time for us.”

The ‘Vampire Diaries’ alum also spilled the tea on their relationship when Shaun visited her in Greece while she was filming The Bricklayer. “During the Olympics and the lead-up to it, he was jet-setting all over, hitting the mountains, and training,” she spills.

“For a big chunk of our relationship, I was the one globetrotting to be where he needed to be, except for the COVID times when I was between jobs. It was cool to have him support me and pop over to where I was. The only downside was missing the Oscars because he was presenting, and I was in full work mode. But hey, he took his mum, and they looked fab – she got a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so all good.”

And speaking of surprises, the duo recently celebrated Nina’s 35th birthday in style. White pulled off a jaw-dropping surprise trip to Disneyland, with the actress taking to Instagram to share her joy. “Happiest surprise on the happiest day at the happiest place on earth,” she gushed. “I’m usually impossible to surprise, but they nailed it. Feeling incredibly lucky, celebrated, loved, grateful, and appreciative. When it comes to friends, I definitely hit the jackpot.”
