Nintendo Announces ‘The Legend Of Zelda’ and ‘Splatoon’ Orchestra Concert

Nintendo has recently revealed its plans to livestream not one, but two exciting concerts next month. Brace yourselves for an auditory journey with performances dedicated to ‘The Legend of Zelda’ and ‘Splatoon.’

Originally, these concerts were slated to unfold during separate Nintendo Live events, with the first scheduled for 16th-17th December 2023, and the second on 20th-21st January 2024.

Alas, the gaming enthusiasts’ excitement was dampened as both events faced an unfortunate cancellation. Nintendo cited “persistent threats targeting our employees” as the compelling reason behind this decision.

In a translated version of the comprehensive statement provided to VGC, Nintendo elaborated on its rationale. “Our company has been persistently receiving threatening behaviour targeting our staff. Recently, these threats have extended to the audience and staff of the Splatoon Koshien 2023 National Finals event as well. With consideration to the safety of our customers as our top priority, we have decided to postpone the event,” read the statement.

The disappointment continued with the cancellation of Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo, as safety concerns took precedence. Nintendo declared, “Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo has been cancelled due to the inability to ensure the safety of our customers.”

Nintendo has a silver lining for you. As revealed on X (formerly Twitter), ‘The Legend of Zelda’ concert is set to be pre-recorded and will grace the Nintendo YouTube channel on 9th February. Following suit, the ‘Splatoon 3 Deep Cut’ concert will premiere on 10th February and will also find its way to the Nintendo YouTube channel.
