The announcement follows teasers from the singer earlier this year, where she described the upcoming record as “literally the best music she’s ever made.” Speaking to Deadline Hollywood during Sundance, Normani expressed her excitement: “I want this project to come out more than anybody. But, it’s literally the best music I’ve ever made and I could be more proud and I know that – once it comes out – you guys are gonna be like, ‘Yeah. The wait was worth it.'”

Normani gained prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, which formed under Simon Cowell’s guidance on ‘The X Factor US.’ Despite not winning the show, Fifth Harmony achieved tremendous success, with five platinum singles and three Top Five Billboard 200 albums before going on hiatus in 2017.

Her debut solo single ‘Motivation’ dropped in 2019, co-written by Ariana Grande and earned platinum status in the US. The song’s nostalgic ”00s-inspired music video garnered viral attention, accumulating 185 million views on YouTube.

Collaborating with Megan Thee Stallion on ‘Diamonds’, featured in the ‘Birds Of Prey’ soundtrack, Normani showcased her prowess in the exuberant female power anthem. Normani contributed to Cardi B’s ‘Wild Side’ and Calvin Harris’ ‘Next To You’, alongside Tinashe and Offset. In 2021, she released her second solo single, ‘Fair’, marking another milestone in her solo career.
