There's no rest for a rising pop star—and Olivia Rodrigo is proving that once again. Following her successful 'GUTS World Tour,' the singer recently appeared on American Express's 'There's Nothing Like It' YouTube series and revealed the long-awaited news: she is again working on her third album at her home studio. Rodrigo hinted at a "special performance" in the interview, though she wouldn't give details just yet.

Fans are speculating about the potential course of this new chapter, which is frequently referred to as 'OR3,' after the confirmation comes at the end of a tour that broke records.

Tour's Success and the possible 'OR3' Tease

Rodrigo's 'GUTS World Tour' was a major milestone. Its passion, emotion, and stagecraft were hailed by critics and fans, and it was a commercial success. The tour was one of the largest by a 21st-century artist, with a total revenue of approximately $196 million. Rodrigo gave Easter egg clues about her new phase when she concluded the trip.

She gave out her trademark "G.U.T.S." rings to fans during the last Osheaga festival performance on 3rd August, while sporting a bright red jersey with the number 3 printed on it. Many people interpreted her website's slight graphic change, which included a switch from her typical purple to red tones, as an indication of a new musical chapter.

What We Know About the New Album So Far

Though Rodrigo hasn't revealed the full title or release date yet, the third project is commonly referred to as 'OR3' in fan circles and media. "Now I'm home, and I'm working on my new album," she said bluntly in the Amex interview, marking the first formal confirmation following months of rumours.

Along with making jokes about dietary changes in previous albums—'burritos' in SOUR, and 'bean and cheese tacos' in GUTS—she hinted that this time it will be 'salmon,' a playful indication that she is changing as a person as her music does.

Rodrigo has stated in previous interviews that she is motivated by growth, emotion, and stretching artistic boundaries; therefore, fans anticipate the new work to be more mature, more experimental, and deeply personal, even though collaborations, topics, and the complete tracklist are yet unknown.
