Omar Apollo is stepping into the acting world with a role in the upcoming film 'Queer,' directed by acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino. The singer will star alongside Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey in this adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ semi-autobiographical novel, first published in 1985.
Set in 1940s Mexico City, the story follows Craig’s character, an American expat grappling with heroin addiction. Craig, known for his iconic portrayal of James Bond, takes on a dramatically different role, which the Venice Film Festival’s artistic director, Alberto Barbera, has described as “the performance of his life.”

Drew Starkey, known for his work on 'Outer Banks,' plays a young man who becomes the object of Craig’s character’s affection. Apollo’s role in the film remains a mystery, sparking intrigue among fans and critics alike.
'Queer' will make its debut at the Venice Film Festival this September, promising a fresh narrative from Burroughs’ vivid storytelling and Guadagnino’s unique directorial style.
