One MCU Star Disappointed by Absence of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Cameo in New Marvel Project

Marvel’s latest blockbuster, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, featured a slew of familiar faces from Ryan Reynolds’ past, but one notable actor was surprisingly missing from the lineup.

Josh Brolin, known for his role as Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’, and as Cable in ‘Deadpool 2’, recently expressed his disappointment about not being included in the new film. During a promotional event for his Prime Video series ‘Outer Range’, Brolin shared his confusion about Marvel’s decision, remarking on the complexity of the MCU and his lack of involvement.

Despite the film’s inclusion of numerous past characters, Brolin’s absence is puzzling, especially given his enjoyment of playing Cable. Brolin mentioned, “Cable was a lot of fun. I really liked doing that role. That was a lot of fun.” His appearance in the film could have provided a perfect opportunity for a meta, Deadpool-style joke. Director Shawn Levy had previously discussed how easy it was to bring in cameos due to his connections with the actors involved, such as Chris Evans, Henry Cavill, and Wesley Snipes.

However, one anticipated cameo that didn’t make the cut was Taylor Swift as the mutant Dazzler, despite her close relationships with Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively. Levy confirmed that Swift’s appearance was never discussed. Other fan theories about potential cameos, such as Ben Affleck or Tobey Maguire, also didn’t materialize. While Brolin’s absence is notable, he wasn’t the only expected cameo left out of the film.
