Paramore React to Their Win at The 2024 Grammys

Paramore has responded to their groundbreaking victory for 'Best Rock Album' at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Although the band didn't make it to the ceremony, they kept fans updated through a series of social media posts. In one snap, they show two cakes, prepared whether they clinched the win or not.

The trio from Tennessee snagged the accolade for their 2023 album, 'This Is Why', triumphing over tough competition including Foo Fighters, Greta Van Fleet, Metallica and Queens of the Stone Age. This achievement marks a significant milestone as Paramore becomes the first female-fronted band to bag this award, previously dominated by solo female artists like Alanis Morrissette and Sheryl Crow back in the '90s.

In another Instagram post, the trio expressed immense gratitude to their fans, team and the voting academy for making 'This Is Why' such a monumental success, especially two decades into their musical journey. They shared the joyous moment of watching the awards from Zac's living room, decked out in their usual attire.

Reflecting on their historic win, Paramore acknowledged the significance of being pioneers in breaking the gender barrier in the rock music realm. They described the experience as both absurd and incredible, emphasizing the importance of pushing for inclusivity in rock and alternative music spaces.

Earlier last month, the trio, consisting of Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and drummer Zac Farro, made headlines by wiping their social media accounts clean and displaying a 404 error message on their official website. This move followed their expression of uncertainty regarding their future, post the 'This Is Why' tour and their obligations to Atlantic Records.

Addressing their departure from Atlantic Records, Paramore stated, "Some of you will know that ‘This Is Why’ was our last album for our deal with Atlantic Records. To finish anything well is something to be proud of. Thank you to anyone who supported the ethos of Paramore as much as the music."
