‘Pokémon GO’ Adding New Fairy-Type Pokemon in Upcoming Event

‘Pokémon GO’ has kicked off the new year with a bang, introducing the shiny Cutiefly in the latest event, ‘Dazzling Dream.’ After a bustling year of incorporating new Pokémon and gameplay features, the game is keeping the momentum going into 2024.

To ring in the new year, ‘Pokémon GO’ treated its trainers to a special event. January’s Community Day features Rowlet, while the Community Day Classic spotlights Porygon. Niantic has upped the ante by introducing Dusk Form Lycanroc and teasing the upcoming Raid Day with the addition of Hisuian Typhlosion.

With these additions, ‘Pokémon GO’ enthusiasts can now enjoy all Sinnoh starters in their Hisui variants.

New Pokémones

For those on the quest to expand their Pokedex with Fairy-type Pokemon, there’s exciting news. The game has announced a dedicated event showcasing this Pokémon type, accompanied by the introduction of a new shiny Pokémon.

The star of the show is the shiny Cutiefly, making its debut during the ‘Dazzling Dream’ event. This spectacular event runs from 13th January to 16th January. Trainers during this period can encounter the pre-evolution Ribombee in the wild.

Additionally, a roster of other Fairy-type Pokémon, including Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Marill, Snubbull, Cottonee, Spritzee, Swirlix, Dedenne, Morelull, and Togetic, will be making appearances. Catching Togetic is no small feat, as it’s a rare spawn, making it a highlight of the event.

The ‘Dazzling Dream Event’

Flabebe will also play a significant role in the Dazzling Dream event. In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, trainers can find the red Flabebe, while the Asia-Pacific region will see the blue variant. Trainers in the Americas will encounter the yellow Flabebe. Regardless of location, all trainers have the chance to spot the rare white and orange variants of the Gen 6 Pokemon.

Players can hatch Togepi, Spritzee, Swirlix, and Cutiefly in 7 km eggs, and completing Field Research tasks will yield rewards such as Alolan Vulpix, Spritzee, Swirlix, Cutiefly, Mawile, and Carbink. Mega Gardevoir and Mega Altaria will receive Mega Energy, and Collection Challenges completion will be rewarded with XP, Stardust, and an encounter with Carbink.

A Limited Paid Research option will also be available, offering two Premium Battle Passes, XP, Stardust, two Star Pieces, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.

As a bonus, catching and hatching Pokemon during the ‘Dazzling Dream’ event will provide double Stardust. To top it off, a new avatar item will hit the in-game store.

Entering January, ‘Pokémon GO’ Season 13 is in full swing, with the Hisui region as its central theme. With the year just beginning and thrilling events on the horizon, ‘Pokémon GO’ players have plenty to anticipate in the months ahead.
