Before the highly anticipated showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Post Malone, the renowned ‘Sunflower’ musician delivered a stirring rendition of ‘America the Beautiful’.Dressed in a brown suede jacket and adorned with a bolo tie, Malone took centre stage, strumming his acoustic guitar as he poured soulful melodies into the patriotic anthem.
As his resonant voice filled the stadium, the camera panned to capture the audience’s reactions, including those of Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, who were spotted in their suite, singing along with arms wrapped around each other’s shoulders.
Reflecting on his upcoming performance in an interview with Apple Music earlier in the week, Malone confessed to feeling nervous yet excited. Sitting alongside fellow pregame performers Reba McEntire and Andra Day, Malone shared, “I’m very nervous… But excited, I’m excited.” He expressed the honour of performing a song with such a rich history on the grand stage of the Super Bowl.
In addition to Malone’s heartfelt rendition of ‘America the Beautiful’, Reba McEntire delivered a powerful rendition of the national anthem, while Andra Day moved hearts with her rendition of ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing.’
The halftime show featured Usher as the headlining act. Notably, this year’s Super Bowl marked the first time Las Vegas hosted the prestigious event, and for Malone, the city held special significance beyond the football festivities.
During an interview on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, Malone revealed that Las Vegas was where he proposed to his fiancée, whose identity he has chosen to keep private, adding a personal touch to his connection with the vibrant city.
