Prince Harry Reveals Queen Camilla Used to be The “Other Woman” When He Was a Kid

Prince Harry’s strained relationship with the British royal family shows no sign of improving. Since he and his family settled in America after being barred from their palace, the Duke of Sussex has released a highly anticipated memoir, ‘Spare.’ While the book contains numerous revelations, one standout moment involves the nickname given to Queen Camilla by Prince Harry and his elder brother, Prince William.
Prince William and Prince Harry, sons of King Charles III and the late Princess Diana, regard Queen Camilla as their stepmother. In ‘Spare,’ Harry discloses that he and his brother were unhappy with their father’s marriage to Camilla, referring to her as the “other woman.” The brothers even pleaded with their father not to marry her.

The memoir also touches on Princess Diana’s iconic BBC Panorama interview, where she famously said, “There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded,” alluding to Camilla’s involvement with Charles. Reflecting on his mother’s comment, Harry felt that both he and William were overlooked in the adult’s complicated love triangle.
Harry wrote that they sensed something was wrong with their father’s relationship with Camilla and struggled to cope with the changes. He recalled, “We didn’t understand what was going on with her and Pa, certainly, but we intuited enough, we sensed the presence of the Other Woman because we suffered the downstream effects.”

As the brothers’ tumultuous relationship continued, Harry revealed that William was particularly troubled by Camilla’s presence. William harboured suspicions about the “Other Woman,” which confused and tormented him. When his suspicions were confirmed, he felt immense guilt for not having acted sooner.
“Willy long harboured suspicions about the Other Woman, which confused him, tormented him and when those suspicions were confirmed he felt tremendous guilt for having done nothing, said nothing, sooner,” Harry stated.
