Prince William’s Gives Update on Kate Middleton and Their Kids During Walkabout
Prince William shared an optimistic update about Kate Middleton and their children following his recent royal engagement. During his visit to James’ Place Newcastle in northeast England on 30th April, the 41-year-old Prince interacted with well-wishers, including two women draped in Union Jack flags, and provided a brief update on his wife and children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
In a video shared on Instagram by the fan account WalesVideos, one woman asked about Kate’s well-being and William reassured them, saying they were all doing well. This informal conversation took place during his third day of public engagements since Kate announced her cancer diagnosis on 22nd March.

Kate, 42, revealed in a self-recorded video message that she was undergoing chemotherapy after tests following her January abdominal surgery showed the presence of cancer. The timing of her announcement, strategically made during the Easter break of their children’s school, allowed for private family time.
William took a break from his duties following Kate’s health update, returning to public engagements the day after their children went back to school. During his engagements, he graciously accepted well wishes for Kate and his father, King Charles, who is also undergoing cancer treatment. He was moved when given cards for them during a visit to a food distribution charity.
On 18th April, during his first official engagement after Kate’s announcement, William expressed gratitude for the support and promised to take care of his wife. During subsequent visits, thoughtful gifts for Kate were sent home with him, reflecting the theme of mental health and positivity.
The couple’s children were also a topic of discussion during engagements. William shared Princess Charlotte’s favourite joke and humorously mentioned cleaning up after their pet guinea pig. The family celebrated significant events in late April, including Prince Louis’ 6th birthday and their 13th wedding anniversary, marked by new portraits.
