Raye’s extraordinary achievement of bagging seven nominations surpassed any previous individual artist’s record, as confirmed by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), the organisers of the annual ceremony. Despite facing career hurdles, such as parting ways with her record label in 2021, Raye remained resilient as an independent artist and reaped the fruits of her labour and perseverance.

The festivities for Raye kicked off earlier in the week when she was bestowed with the prestigious title of BRITs ‘Songwriter of the Year,’ marking a significant milestone in her journey. Notably, she became the first woman to receive this honour since its inception in 2022.
