In statements tied to the announcement, Kang said, "I feel immense pride as a Korean filmmaker that the audience wants more from this Korean story and our Korean characters. Despite the excitement, Netflix hasn't revealed a firm release date yet. According to industry reports, the sequel, which is tentatively titled 'KPop Demon Hunters 2,' is anticipated to be released around 2029. However, animation executives say that due to the complexity and quality ambitions involved. Fan-favourite voices including Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo are anticipated to return in the follow-up movie, which promises to dive further into unresolved story lines from the first, including character backstories and the ongoing demon threat.
