Rihanna’s New Album Features “Hits,” Says Singer

Rihanna has given us a sneak peek into her much-anticipated upcoming album, hinting that she’s got some potential hits in the works.

The singer made an appearance at a launch bash for her FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty Earth Tone shoe line in London. Chatting with Entertainment Tonight at the event, she discussed her new collection, her fashion vibes and the joys of motherhood. Revealing that her sons RZA and Riot are all about ‘Wheels On The Bus,’ Rihanna also spilled the beans on whether her kids might feature in her upcoming tunes.

“Well, that’s up to them,” said the ‘Needed Me’ songstress. “I’ve already got some stuff brewing that I think could be big hits. Rocky and I are deep in figuring out who’s gonna claim what because it’s all sounding so good.”

Earlier this month, the pop sensation hinted at having “loads of visual ideas” for her eagerly-awaited ninth album.

“It’s a bit strange,” she confessed. “Usually, it’s the music that comes first, leading me down all these visual paths. But now, I’m flooded with visuals, yet the songs are still catching up. Maybe that’s the key this time around. Perhaps these visual concepts are guiding me towards the songs I need to create.”

When quizzed about whether she sees this project as a sort of “rebirth,” Rihanna replied with a grin: “Random thoughts, quirky notions, things that may not even relate to me. I wish I could spill the beans, but the ops are watching.”

While chatting with ET, she admitted that she’s not quite got the songs to match her visual concepts yet. Then, cheekily steering the conversation away from her upcoming music, Rihanna quipped: “That’s like me snitching on my record.”

Rihanna’s last full-length album, ‘Anti,’ dropped in 2016. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up, dubbed ‘R9.’ The singer initially teased its arrival back in 2018 but has been keeping everyone on their toes since.

Despite the teasing, Rihanna hinted in 2020 that new music would have to wait, urging fans to be patient during the pandemic.
