Could Robert Downey Jr. reprise his iconic role as Iron Man in the future? The answer lies in the hands of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
In an interview for the April/May issue of Esquire, Downey, 59, expressed confidence in Feige's ability to steer the Marvel ship, acknowledging Feige as someone not to bet against. Downey, who portrayed Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for over a decade, including his pivotal role in ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ hinted that he would gladly return to the role if given the opportunity, describing it as an integral part of his identity.

Reflecting on his journey with the character, Downey admitted feeling unnoticed in the superhero genre despite delivering what he considers some of his best work. He discussed the challenges faced with his 2020 film ‘Dolittle,’ highlighting how the experience made him more receptive to learning and growth.
Downey's dedication to the role of Tony Stark has been evident throughout his career, with Feige confirming in December 2023 that Iron Man's chapter remains closed in the MCU, honouring the character's legacy.
