Romy Mars, daughter of acclaimed director Sofia Coppola and Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars, has officially launched her music career with the release of two singles, ‘Stuck Up’ and ‘From a Distance’.
These debut bedroom-pop tracks, both written by Romy and produced by singer-songwriter Claud, showcase her soft-spoken vocals and confessional storytelling. In ‘Stuck Up’, Romy channels teenage angst with lyrics like, "Is this like a dream or a nightmare / But I'm stuck in a haze / On or ahead and I can't find your face."

Meanwhile, ‘From a Distance’ features a more explicit and attitude-filled delivery, with Romy singing, "Always gonna be somebody else you're f—ing seeing / Always gonna be stuck in these eyes I keep believing."
Sofia Coppola proudly celebrated her daughter's musical debut on Instagram, sharing a photo of Romy and expressing her pride. She also thanked Claud for producing the two-song EP, 'Stuck Up' and directed her followers to the link in her bio for more information.
Romy's foray into music comes after a viral moment last year when she revealed in a TikTok video that she had been grounded for attempting to charter a helicopter using her dad’s credit card to visit a friend.
In the video, she also mentioned that her parents' biggest rule was no public social media accounts to avoid the "nepotism kid" label, adding humorously, "TikTok is not gonna make me famous, so it doesn't really matter." Romy's music career is now officially underway, marked by her heartfelt and raw lyrical expressions in her debut tracks.
