Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman Wrap ‘Deadpool 3’ Filming!

Marvel Studios’ ‘Deadpool 3’ has finally wrapped up filming after facing delays attributed to the SAG-AFTRA strike, as shared by the film’s lead, Ryan Reynolds, in a recent Instagram post.

In the post, Reynolds expressed gratitude to the entire cast and crew, including director Shawn Levy, while playfully acknowledging co-star Hugh Jackman. The heartfelt message, consistent with Reynolds’ and Deadpool’s irreverent charm, was paired with a cheeky snapshot featuring the superhero’s spandex-clad lower half.

Reynolds shared some behind-the-scenes tidbits, revealing, “The suit hides blood. Also sweat… But today, with ‘Deadpool’ wrapping, it’s mostly tears.” He extended a giant thanks to everyone involved in the film, acknowledging the challenges faced during the production, including weather hurdles and, in jest, a nod to Hugh Jackman’s presence.

Hugh Jackman, bidding farewell to the project, expressed his love for the filmmaking journey, excluding the less enjoyable aspects like training and diet. He thanked the exceptional cast and crew, singling out Reynolds and director Shawn Levy as indispensable collaborators. The film is set to hit the big screen on 26th July, following a rescheduled release date due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Originally planned for a 3rd May 2024 premiere, ‘Deadpool 3”s journey to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was marked by hurdles, primarily the industry-wide strike. The new release date positions ‘Deadpool’ as an official member of the MCU after Disney acquires Fox.

Director Shawn Levy, providing a glimpse into the movie during TIFF in September 2023, emphasized the desire for a storyline that feels grounded and real. Levy envisioned the film as a blend of classic buddy comedies like ‘Midnight Run’ and ’48 Hours,’ with the iconic characters of Jackman and Reynolds at the forefront.
