Ryan Reynolds Talks About Taylor Swift Casting Rumours in ‘Deadpool’ Series

Ryan Reynolds has finally responded to the buzz surrounding the possibility of Taylor Swift joining the Deadpool movie. The speculation centres on Swift potentially portraying the superhero Dazzler in the upcoming Marvel film.

As anticipation builds for the summer release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, Reynolds participated in an interview with Fandango where he addressed these rumours. “You know, movies like this… there’s so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film,” he said. “I saw one that was convinced that Elvis is in the movie. Anything can happen and that’s sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”

Director Shawn Levy had previously commented on the rumours in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, neither confirming nor denying Swift’s involvement. “That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview. I’m going to literally walk out of the frame and save myself, otherwise, Ryan [Reynolds] is taking a hit [out] on me,” Levy joked.

The rumours gained traction after Levy attended a football game last year to support Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Addressing the speculation, Levy said, “All that’s known is that I went to a football game, and those hours were well-documented and that’s all I’m gonna say. What can I say? I think intrigue is fun.”

Levy has remained tight-lipped about the rumours, even when asked by TheWrap in October. “They sure are loud,” he said at the time. “I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”

‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ the third movie in the ‘Deadpool’ series, will feature Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine. The film is set to hit cinemas this summer.
