Salma Hayek's Heartfelt Tribute to 'Dear' Tom Cruise on His 62nd Birthday

Salma Hayek sends her best wishes to Tom Cruise! As Cruise celebrates his 62nd birthday Hayek, 57, posted a photo of herself with the ‘Top Gun’ star on her Instagram Stories, wishing him a happy birthday. "Happy birthday dear @tomcruise 🥳🥳🥳," Hayek captioned the photo, also adding the message in Spanish: "Feliz cumpleaños querido @tomcruise 🥳🥳🥳."

The photo shared by Hayek appears to be a cropped image from Victoria Beckham's 50th birthday party in April. Back then, Hayek had posted a picture on Instagram featuring herself, Cruise, her husband François-Henri Pinault, and Marc Anthony at the event.

Although Hayek and Cruise have never shared the screen, they seem to be close friends. Cruise produced Hayek's 2006 film ‘Ask the Dust’, where she starred alongside Colin Farrell, the late Donald Sutherland, and Idina Menzel. In July 2022, the duo was spotted posing for photos outside a London restaurant after dining with Hayek's husband Pinault, whom she married in 2009.

Hayek wasn't the only celebrity friend to celebrate Cruise's birthday. Jennifer Connelly, Cruise's co-star in 2022's ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, posted a photo on Instagram of her riding on the back of Cruise's motorcycle during the film's production, wishing him a happy birthday with the caption: "Here’s to another trip around the sun. Happy birthday @tomcruise!"

While it's unclear how Cruise is spending his birthday, he was recently seen with Gillian Anderson and his long-time ‘Mission: Impossible’ co-star Simon Pegg at Coldplay’s performance at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival. Before that, he was spotted at Wembley Stadium's VIP tent at a Taylor Swift concert in London with Travis Kelce, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, and Greta Gerwig; a video posted on X showed the group dancing to Swift's ‘Shake It Off.’

Hayek's latest big-screen appearance was in 2023's ‘Magic Mike's Last Dance’ and a 2023 episode of ‘Black Mirror’. Cruise, meanwhile, was last seen in ‘Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning’ and is currently working on the franchise's eighth movie, set for release in May 2025.
