Sandra Bullock stepped away from the spotlight after her longtime partner, Bryan Randall, passed away from ALS in August 2023. Now, the actress is gradually making her way back into the entertainment industry and appears ready to explore dating life once again. “Sandra’s gradually reemerging into public life,” a source told Us Weekly. “She’s excited about what the future holds. She’s ready to get back in the game.”
During her time away, Bullock reflected on her accomplishments, which include a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005 and around 50 remarkable films. In March 2022, she announced a break from the industry following the release of her romantic comedy film, 'The Lost City.'

When asked about the length of her hiatus, Sandra replied, "I don't know... until I don't feel like I feel now when I'm in front of a camera." Her only cameo since then was in the 2022 action comedy 'Bullet Train,' alongside her 'Lost City' co-star Brad Pitt.
Bryan Randall, her partner of eight years, was diagnosed with ALS in 2020. This fatal motor neuron disease causes nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to deteriorate progressively. Bryan passed away on August 6, 2023, after a three-year battle with the disease. A source close to the family mentioned to PEOPLE that Randall's death was profoundly difficult for Bullock, and she relied on loved ones for support while focusing on raising her children.

As of 2024, Sandra Bullock is set to return to the screen. She is slated to star alongside Nicole Kidman in a sequel to their 1998 romantic fantasy film, 'Practical Magic.' Although HBO Max had considered a spinoff series in 2019 based on Hoffman’s prequel novel 'Rules of Magic,' the project never materialised.
