Snoop Dogg Aims to Showcase Musical Expertise on ‘The Voice’: ‘I’m the People’s Champ’

When it comes to the legendary Snoop Dogg, the Doggfather himself, there seems to be no limit to his willingness to explore new ventures and embrace fresh challenges. In an exciting development, the multi-platinum rapper, music mogul, media personality, and actor found himself at the forefront of a groundbreaking announcement. 

Snoop Dogg was named one of the newest judges to join the 26th season of the widely acclaimed music competition show ‘The Voice,’ alongside newcomer Michael Bublé and returning coaches Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani.

On the very same day, Snoop appeared on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ brimming with enthusiasm to share his excitement for his upcoming coaching gig. “If you know anything about me, you know I love music of all forms,” declared the 16-time Grammy-nominated rap superstar, his words resonating with passion and conviction.

“So this is a great opportunity for me to show that I really understand music and, you know, to be a real coach and to really give direction to some of these artists that could be today’s next big thing.”

For those who may have been surprised by Snoop’s decision to join the music competition show’s coaching panel, the ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ rapper assured viewers that his love for music transcends genres. “That’s what people are going to learn about me is that that’s why I feel like people are attracted to me because I’m not one-sided,” he added with confidence. “I’m not just for you, I’m for everybody. I’m the people’s champ.”

Host Fallon, already brimming with excitement, declared his unwavering belief in Team Snoop’s potential for victory next season, proclaiming, “I’m already investing in” their success. However, the hip-hop icon graciously acknowledged the unique talents and contributions that his fellow judges bring to the table.

Speaking of Stefani, the Long Beach, Calif., native shared a heartfelt sentiment, “Me and Gwen have been friends for a long time. She’s a California girl, in a real way.” Snoop also had high praise for the legendary McEntire, referring to her as the “queen” and stating with reverence, “I mean, I’m Snoop Dogg, I respect the queen. That is the queen. All hail the mighty queen.”
