Snow White Still Welcomed at Disney Parks Despite False Rumours
The cherished figure Snow White is still present in Disney Parks today, despite reports to the contrary. However, according to a former Disney cast member who says she played Snow White, she was fired from the part.
Sophia Dottir has claimed in a lengthy YouTube video that she was a part of the Disney College Program and that she was fired as a result of social media posts that showed her as Snow White at the Orlando Resort after she was the subject of an “investigation for breaking character integrity online.”

In order to preserve the magic of the Disney experience, cast members are not allowed to reveal who they play in the parks. To keep the magic alive, cast members usually identify themselves as “friends of Tinkerbell”. In defiance of this rule, Dottir has posted numerous Instagram videos of herself or someone similar costumed as Snow White mingling with park visitors, including talking with kids and taking part in character breakfasts.
Dottir presents pictures of herself as Snow White from her youth in her YouTube video. These are followed by pictures that seem to show her as an adult playing the role of Akershus, a Disney World restaurant where guests can eat with princesses. “I’m Sophia, so how can I be Snow White?” she asks, playfully rejecting the suggestion that she portrays the Snow White character. She then laughs. Additionally, she admits the subjectivity of her story, calling herself an “unreliable narrator.”
Dottir claims that after being called to a meeting by company officials and told about the investigation, her business ID was taken away from her, and she was led away from the building. She asserts that she was abruptly fired despite the investigation and that no notice was given to the additional Snow White-related posts on her social media accounts.
Dottir goes on to argue that other cast members act similarly without being held accountable, and she backs up this assertion with screenshots she took from social media.
Disney fans’ conjecture about Snow White’s removal from the park appears to have started with a headline on the fan site Inside the Magic that read, “Disney Suspends Snow White’s Presence in Theme Parks Indefinitely Amid Ongoing Investigation.” Nevertheless, there is no proof that the supposed termination has had an impact on Snow White’s persona.
