Someone Tried Breaking Into Taylor Swift’s NYC Townhouse, Here’s What Happened
A man found himself in a spot of bother when he was apprehended for attempting to break into Taylor Swift’s Tribeca pad in New York City. The New York Police Department got wind of the situation after a call came in about a disorderly character causing a ruckus on Franklin Street.
Upon reaching the scene, the officers were informed that the said individual tried his luck with a door of a building in the vicinity, though the police haven’t officially confirmed if his target was Swift’s residence. However, a reliable source in the report spilled the beans, confirming that they indeed witnessed the attempted breach.
The eyewitness said, “I first spotted him around 1 p.m. — he sauntered up to Taylor’s door. Can’t say for sure if he knocked or rang the doorbell.” This watchful observer also noted the suspect’s suspicious activities in the neighbourhood, particularly around Swift’s abode, for a few weeks.

Another neighbour chimed in, exclusively telling Page Six that they’d seen the same individual lurking around for a solid month. The neighbour revealed, “When he turned up before Christmas, my husband asked what he was up to, and he said, ‘I want to see Taylor.’ He even had flowers at one point. I asked him to beat it this morning, and he just stared at me, catatonic. Total nutcase.”
The drama unfolded around 1:45 p.m. ET when the police rolled up in several patrol cars. The officers had a chit-chat with the alleged intruder for a few minutes before slapping the cuffs on him. According to an eyewitness, the whole affair was quite civil, devoid of any resistance or yelling.
Decked out in a tan hoodie, khaki pants, a navy blue jacket and tan gloves, the man’s plans were foiled. He was taken into custody not only for his Swiftian escapade but also because there was an unrelated warrant out for his arrest.
This isn’t the first time Taylor Swift has had to deal with overzealous fans. Back in 2019, a man named Roger Alvarado got himself arrested for attempting a similar break-in at her Tribeca residence. When questioned about a potential repeat, he cryptically responded, “Probably, with more violence, but not towards her. I don’t want to hurt her. I just wanted to speak to her, to talk to her. She seems nice [and] cool.”

Alvarado eventually struck a plea deal in court and was handed a four-year sentence, marking his second arrest for the same offence.
