From 'Speed' to the Stage: Shared History and New Projects
When 'Speed' debuted in theaters in 1994, it immediately became a global sensation, earning over $350 million worldwide and solidifying the star power of both performers. The action film, which has Bullock's passenger Annie driving a bomb-rigged bus that Reeves' LAPD officer Jack Traven must keep above 50 mph or it will explode, is still hailed as a cult classic.
Bullock and Reeves have maintained their relationship despite different professional paths and subsequent responsibilities. Years after 'Speed,' they were artistically reunited on screen in the romantic drama 'The Lake House' in 2006.
