Spike Lee ‘High And Low’: Ice Spice and Denzel Washington to Star in New Film

Ice Spice is gearing up to make her acting debut alongside Denzel Washington in an upcoming Spike Lee film, ‘High And Low.’

As per a report from Variety, Ice Spice has already begun filming her scenes for the movie, although details about her role are being kept tightly under wraps. The film is an English adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime drama of the same name.

The original movie, based on Ed McBain’s novel ‘King’s Ransom,’ stars Toshiro Mifune as a wealthy man who finds himself in a dilemma when his employee’s son is kidnapped for ransom. The remake of ‘High And Low’ is set to hit cinemas courtesy of A24 before landing on Apple TV+, as reported by The Guardian, although specific release dates are yet to be announced.

Spike Lee’s take on ‘High And Low’ marks his fifth collaboration with Denzel Washington. Their previous projects together include ‘Mo’ Better Blues’ (1990), ‘Malcolm X’ (1992), ‘He Got Game’ (1998) and ‘Inside Man’ (2006).

Meanwhile, on the music front, Ice Spice is gearing up to drop her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Y2K,’ sometime this year. According to the rapper, the album is “complete” and has recently “passed the car test.”
