Get ready to head back to Hawkins when the new chapter arrives on 23rd April.
That is the official release date for the first spinoff set in the 'Stranger Things' universe, "Stranger Things: Tales From '85." The animated Netflix series is created by Matt and Ross Duffer, with Shawn Levy serving as executive producer and Eric Robles leading the project as showrunner. It brings fans back to the familiar world of the original show, while telling a brand-new story with a fresh voice cast stepping into the roles of beloved characters.

"Stranger Things: Tales From '85" Teaser
The newly released teaser taps into the classic 'Stranger Things' vibe while adding something new. Set after the series finale that aired on 31st December 2025, the preview opens with Will arriving at Eleven's house and Hopper reminding him to behave. Not long after, the friends come back together for bike rides and a Dungeons and Dragons session in the basement, but their peaceful time is quickly shattered by a frightening new danger.
The story is set during the winter of 1985, when snow covers Hawkins and life seems to be returning to normal. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max are enjoying simple days filled with snowball fights and games with friends.

But beneath the frozen town, a dark force begins to awaken. As strange events unfold, the group must uncover the truth and protect Hawkins once again in this previously untold chapter of the 'Stranger Things' world.

The voice cast includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha EJ Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, Jeremy Jordan as Steve, and Brett Gipson as Hopper.
The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy have previously shared that the animated series "Stranger Things: Tales From '85" will stand apart from the original show. Instead of simply recreating 'Stranger Things' in animated form, the series introduces a different tone and visual style inspired by classic 80s and 90s family cartoons. It also expands the mythology and timeline in ways fans have not seen before.
