Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell Join Natasha Bedingfield at The 2024 People’s Choice Awards

Natasha Bedingfield surprised the audience at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards by taking the stage to perform her hit song ‘Unwritten’ alongside Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell.

While presenting the award for female country artist, Sweeney, 26 and Powell, 35, playfully referenced their recent romantic comedy, ‘Anyone But You.’ In the film, Powell’s character eases his fear of heights by singing along to Bedingfield’s 2004 song.

During their onstage banter, Sweeney checked in on Powell’s nerves, to which he admitted feeling a bit anxious due to the large crowd. Sweeney, trying to calm him down, initiated a chant of ‘Unwritten,’ but Powell humorously remarked that his anxiety wasn’t easily subdued.

Undeterred, Sweeney decided to “bring out the big guns” and introduced Bedingfield, 42, who emerged for a spirited rendition of the iconic hit. The crowd enthusiastically joined in, creating a memorable moment at the awards show.

In ‘Anyone But You,’ Powell and Sweeney portray sworn enemies whose relationship takes an unexpected turn during a destination wedding in Australia. Forced into fake dating, they find themselves falling in love. The film gained attention for the chemistry between the actors, and Sweeney expressed excitement, stating, “I mean, we sold a rom-com. We were just filming a fun, amazing movie.”

‘Anyone But You’ received a nomination for ‘Comedy Movie of the Year’ (won by ‘Barbie’), with both Sweeney and Powell recognized in the ‘Comedy Movie Star of the Year’ category (won by Jennifer Lawrence for ‘No Hard Feelings’).
