Sydney Sweeney on Hosting SNL: ‘Scared’ Yet ‘So Much Fun’

One of Sydney Sweeney’s biggest career achievements was her ‘Saturday Night Live’ hosting debut.

The actress said on her 12th March SXSW panel that although her appearance on the show on 2nd March was nerve-wracking at first, it was ultimately rewarding.

Sweeney admitted, “It was so nerve-wracking that my mouth went dry.” “Panic attacks just thinking about it causes. But I thought it was necessary to confront my worries, and the whole SNL experience forced me to step outside of my comfort zone.”

Sweeney described a life-changing event that occurred in her early adolescence and taught her to face her fears head-on. “I still clearly recall my 14-year-old self trying out for a TV show recurring role. Nervousness caused me to completely blank out on my lines, and there were more people in the room than I had anticipated,” she recalled. “It was a terrifying moment.”

Despite her early reservations, Sweeney stated she hoped to host Saturday Night Live once more. She said earlier this month, “I had an incredible time despite being scared.” “Since I feel more prepared and accustomed to the procedure now, I’m willing to try it again. The SNL crew is also a pleasure to collaborate with.”

In her opening monologue, Sweeney made a lighthearted reference to rumours circulating about her relationship with co-star Glen Powell, marking her SNL debut. That is untrue in the extreme. She continued, “My fiancé and I produced the movie together, and he was by my side throughout the entire shoot.” Powell was amusingly seated in the audience as the camera panned to her fiancé Jonathan Davino.

As Sweeney disclosed plans for a possible sequel, fans might get to see Sweeney and Powell’s on-screen chemistry once more. She said, “We’re kicking around ideas for a sequel.” “Nothing’s set in stone yet, but we’re exploring various possibilities.”
