Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce-Inspired Romcom in Development

A rom-com inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship is reportedly in the works. The singer and the Kansas City Chiefs player have been together since last year, drawing significant media attention. Swift attended several NFL games last season, and Kelce has been supporting her on her record-breaking ‘Eras’ tour. Now, the NFL has partnered with Hallmark to create a Christmas romance film inspired by the Chiefs, titled ‘Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.’

According to Entertainment Weekly, production will begin next month in Kansas City, Missouri, with some scenes filmed at Arrowhead Stadium, the Chiefs’ home and the venue for Swift’s Missouri concerts. The official synopsis of the movie reads: “Alana (King) believes her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a top contender for the team’s Fan of the Year contest.

“Derrick (Hynes), director of fan engagement, is responsible for evaluating Alana and her family against the other two finalists. As they spend time together, a spark between them becomes evident. However, when Alana’s grandfather’s (Begley) vintage lucky Chiefs’ hat goes missing, she starts to question everything she believed about fate and her future with Derrick — unless a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary.”

Hallmark’s chief brand officer, Darren Abbott, commented on the film: “With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both being homegrown, rooted in values, tradition, and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations,” possibly alluding to Swift’s song ‘The Alchemy’, which many fans believe is about Kelce.

He continued: “By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community’s spirit, rich traditions, and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way.”

The pair made headlines last weekend when Kelce joined Swift onstage, in character and costume, during her ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ set at Wembley Stadium.
