Taylor Swift Defends Lady Gaga Against “Invasive” Pregnancy Rumour

Taylor Swift has stepped up to defend her fellow pop star, Lady Gaga, against persistent and unfounded pregnancy rumours. The singer, who has faced her share of baseless speculations, took a stand against what she termed “invasive and irresponsible” rumours.

Lady Gaga, who was recently surrounded by pregnancy rumours after pictures from her sister’s wedding went viral, addressed the speculation with characteristic style. In a TikTok video, the singer showcased her makeup while dismissing the rumours. She captioned the video, “Not pregnant—just down bad crying at the gym,” cleverly referencing Swift’s Billboard Hot 100 hit ‘Down Bad’ from her latest album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’

Swift, known for her outspoken nature and support for her peers, jumped into the comment section to back Gaga. “Can we all agree that it’s invasive & irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body? Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation & neither does any woman,” she wrote. This strong statement resonated with many fans, highlighting the importance of respecting women’s privacy.

Swift’s defence of Gaga comes from a place of personal experience. Recently, Swift herself was the subject of pregnancy rumours after fans speculated about a baby bump during her European ‘Eras Tour’ shows. Her swift support for Gaga underscores the solidarity among women in the entertainment industry.

The friendship between Swift and Gaga is rooted in mutual respect and support. In 2020, Gaga publicly supported Swift when she opened up about her struggles with eating disorders, body image, and mental health in her Netflix documentary ‘Miss Americana’.

Gaga praised Swift’s bravery, writing, “That’s really brave everything you said, wow,” on a clip of Swift’s confession that circulated online.
