Taylor Swift has fulfilled the wish of a young girl battling cancer by meeting her during her Sydney Eras Tour show.

At the concert, the pop icon presented 9-year-old Scarlett Oliver, from Perth, with the ’22’ hat. Scarlett, diagnosed with a high-grade glioma last October, had her story and dream to meet Swift shared by her stepmother Natalie on social media.

Natalie, sharing Scarlett’s journey on a fan page for Swift, revealed the challenges Scarlett has faced since her diagnosis. Despite being given a prognosis of 12-18 months, Scarlett has shown immense strength through surgeries, radiation, and other treatments aimed at extending her life.

While the Make-a-Wish Foundation was unable to facilitate Scarlett’s meeting with Swift, Scarlett and Natalie were fortunate to attend the singer’s performance at Accor Stadium. Hoping Scarlett could receive the ’22’ hat, a symbolic gesture during Swift’s Eras Tour, Natalie expressed her desire for Scarlett to experience joy amidst her battle.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Natalie shared Scarlett’s anticipation for the concert and urged friends to support their quest for Scarlett’s dream to come true. The post featured a photo of Scarlett holding a sign asking Taylor for the ’22’ hat.

During the concert, Swift made Scarlett’s wish a reality. In a touching moment captured on video, Swift embraced Scarlett, kissed her hands and placed the hat on her head.
