Taylor Swift Performs 'I Forgot That You Existed' on Scooter Braun's Birthday

The pop superstar delighted Swifties in Cardiff when she performed a surprise set, mashing up two diss tracks, ‘I Forgot That You Existed’ and ‘This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things’. The crowd went wild when she reached the lyric, 'Cause forgiveness is a nice thing to do’, and threw both her hands into her hair, bursting into prolonged laughter as the audience cheered.

Fans immediately took to social media, pointing out that her longtime nemesis Scooter Braun was celebrating his birthday on the same day. One fan wrote, "I FORGOT THAT YOU EXISTED X THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS RIGHT AFTER SCOOTER BRAUN ANNOUNCED HIS RETIREMENT, TAYLOR SWIFT WILL NEVER NOT BE FUNNY."

The timing of the performance was seen as a perfect jab at Braun, who has been feuding with Swift since purchasing Big Machine Label Group, which included the master rights to Swift's first six albums.

Swift had previously slammed both Braun and her former label head Scott Borchetta after the deal went public, announcing she would re-record her albums to regain control. Braun, who has managed top artists like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, recently announced his retirement from music management, which many fans saw as a victory for Swift.

Braun shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, reflecting on his career and expressing gratitude for the journey. He wrote about witnessing and taking part in the careers of extraordinarily talented people, describing his life as a ‘Forrest Gump '-like experience. His decision to retire from music management came after 23 years in the industry.

Going forward, Braun stated that he would prioritise being a father first and a CEO second, stepping away from his role as a manager. His announcement marks a significant shift in his career, emphasising his commitment to family and a new chapter in his professional life.
