Ryan Gosling Performs ‘I’m Just Ken’
Ryan Gosling stole the show at the Oscars with his dazzling hot pink suit as he belted out the Oscar-nominated song alongside a group of Kens. Starting from the audience, where Billie Eilish and Margot Robbie giggled, Gosling later took the stage with fellow actors Scott Evans, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Ncuti Gatwa, along with musicians Mark Ronson, Slash and Wolfgang Van Halen.
John Cena Goes ‘Nude’
John Cena stood out by humorously presenting the ‘Best Costume Design’ award in nothing but an oversized envelope. While other celebrities dazzled in gowns and tuxedos, Cena’s nearly nude moment added a comedic twist to the evening.
Invited onstage by host Jimmy Kimmel as a nod to the infamous 1974 Oscars streaker incident, Cena’s stripped-down appearance provided a lighthearted moment amidst the elegance of the event.
‘Beetlejuice’ Reunion
Thirty-five years after their iconic film ‘Beetlejuice’ hit the screens, Michael Keaton and Catherine O’Hara came together for a special reunion. They graced the stage to announce the winners for ‘Best Production Design’ and ‘Best Makeup and Hairstyling’ at the awards ceremony.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito Reunite!
After more than 30 years, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito reunited on stage, bringing attention to their shared past. DeVito admired the audience and remarked on their collaboration, prompting Schwarzenegger to humorously recall their roles in attempting to defeat Batman.
Schwarzenegger portrayed Mr. Freeze in 1997’s ‘Batman & Robin,’ while DeVito played Penguin in 1992’s ‘Batman Returns.’ The duo is best remembered for their roles in the 1988 film ‘Twins.’
The End of ‘Barbenheimer’?
During the ceremony, Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling shared a playful moment while honouring stunt performances, jokingly referring to a fictional rivalry dubbed ‘Barbenheimer.’ Bantering back and forth, they teased each other about their Barbie and Ken personas, playfully putting the supposed rivalry to rest.
Blunt quipped about leaving the rivalry in the past, noting the lack of real competition during awards season. Gosling humorously suggested the name ‘Barbenheimer’ maybe because Blunt’s character rode Barbie’s coattails all summer. Before moving on, Blunt took a final jab at Gosling’s painted abs, comparing him to Robert Downey Jr. in jest.
Messi (The Dog) Makes His Appearance!
At the star-studded event, amidst Hollywood’s elite, there was a standout guest: Messi! The beloved dog from ‘Anatomy of a Fall’ made a delightful appearance in the audience. Host Kimmel lauded the canine during his opening speech, remarking, “Messi, despite being a dog, might just have delivered the performance of the year in ‘Anatomy of a Fall.'”
The ‘Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)’ Performance
Scott George, in celebration of his Oscar-nominated song from ‘Killers of the Flower Moon,’ delivered a lively rendition of ‘Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)’ alongside The Osage Singers. The performance featured drumming, and dancing and culminated in a standing ovation from the audience, marking a memorable moment of cultural recognition and appreciation.
